FAQs
Answers to Your Key Questions About Pelvic Health and Therapy
At The HOPE Doctors, the first pelvic floor physical therapy specialty practice in Tampa Bay, we are dedicated to a head to toe approach, finding the ROOT CAUSE, including you on your healing journey, all while offering compassion and truly caring. We communicate with your other providers and YOUR care is what matters to us. You aren't a number. You are a real person who deserves the best care.
Who needs pelvic floor physical therapy?
Everyone! Pelvic Therapy can be used to PREVENT issues as well as address any that have come up. It is never too late or too early! If you poop, pee, are intimate, pregnant, or are a human - you would benefit ;)
How long does it typically take to see improvements
Improvement timelines can vary widely depending on the individual case and its severity. Many patients begin to notice positive changes within the first few weeks, but a full therapy program might last several months.
Is pelvic floor physical therapy only for women
No, this therapy is beneficial for anyone experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction. Men and individuals of gender diversity can also face pelvic floor issues, such as post-prostate surgery complications and chronic pelvic pain.
What should I expect during my first visit?
This is a longer session (typically 90 minutes) where we will discuss your symptoms, ask you questions, do a movement assessment, strength and mobility assessment, breathe and core, as well as pelvic floor. Your whole body is connected, so we look at it all!
Because The HOPE Doctors offer expert level care, and is generally not covered by insurance with the full value of what we offer, we are fee for service providers. We offer discounted packages if you want to pay up front, some payment plan options and are willing to provide you with a SuperBill.
